SERKO releases CO2 Emission Tracking

SERKO has released a Carbon Credit Report which now available in both Serko Online and Serko Corporate. The report can be configured by setting a company's applicable parameters, in relation to domestic and international conversion rates and emission cost rate per kilometer. These levels can then be reported on by kilograms or tones. Carbon Reports show a company's carbon emission trend and helps with policy enforcement.

In addition to this, SERKO is scheduled to release new functionality in its corporate self booking tool SERKO Online, which will assist with tracking travellers CO2 emission costs.

Travellers will be able to identify at point of sale during the booking process, which flights will attract the lowest carbon emission penalties thereby maximizing their company's carbon credits with Government.

Empowering a traveller to make the choice to 'fly green' at time of booking, prevents additional costs to companies before they are incurred. This in turn will drive costs down for businesses by ensuring they have lower carbon emissions and higher carbon credits.

The Serko Online policy system allows for policy break reasons to be entered when the 'travel booker' does not book the flight with the lowest emission rating. This break policy process can be combined with low fare rules (best fare of the day policy) as well and this allows reporting on Carbon Emissions and Air fare rules in the same process.

Emission tracking can be based on Airline/Aircraft type - travel route and flying time and other areas that are available at the Flight availability and booking stage.
